Things, they are a’happening.
Our group (affectionately referred to as ‘The A-Team’), made up of Tom, Ned, Shobi, Lin Bei and myself, have decided on a story to turn into a short film (we may or may not have decided on this two weeks ago, but that’s beside the point). We actually decided upon my story, and have since assigned ourselves to the roles we want to perform. At this stage, it stands as follows:
Shobi – Director
Me – Producer
Lin Bei – Sound
Ned – Camera Operator
Tom – Camera Operator
Tom kindly took it upon himself to draw up a rough script from my synopsis which gives us a basic skeleton to work with. I had a read last week, and it’s pretty fantastic. However, at the moment we’re thinking we’ve only got about 3 minutes of content to work with, so our next challenge is finding a way to flesh out the story to the full 5 minutes without losing any of the story’s pizzazz (you read me right).
Personally, I found myself a little concerned with casting. However, after just going on to Tom’s blog to link to him in my first paragraph there, I see that we may have a solution to that – also some excellent surprise news. What a gem.
The final challenge for us (for the moment) is to figure out a way to get the whole undead look going on the husband. I don’t know anyone off the top of my head who is a particularly inspiring special effects makeup artist, but I’m sure I could ask around. If that fails, YouTube has a rather thriving makeup tutorial community, so that could be a helpful safety net.
