Tom summarised our epic hypertext essay concept: "Channel SPATIAL MONTAGE " with news anchor Lev Manovich!!
  • The main page will consist of the main news room, of which Manovich will be the main anchor, the scroll bar at the bottom will be a form of navigation stating “Tonights Top Stories” of which are the other pages encompassed in our Hypertext.
  • Second to the scroll bar at the top right will be another form of navigation inspired by the sky news “press red for more information”, of which will take you to a split screen showing all the “stories” that you can look at.
  • Each page will follow the trends of the components of a News show, having sections for sport, weather, entertainment, gloabal and financial news.
  • On each of these pages the topic will act under the guise of a news story. For example an up and coming film story will act as the page for discussing “the future of the cinema”.
  • On each page will be a presenter all of which will be Manovich in a different outfit.
Below are some photoshopped concept photos and html webpages!!

The Skeleton of our Hypertext Essay

Since this is a group project, it is important for all of the group member to be on the same page and acknowledges each other's ideas, hence we set up a Facebook Page at the beginning of the semester where we post and share our idea with each other! Furthermore, we also read each others blogs and have group meetings to discuss our ideas and concept after the Network Tutorial. Above is the structure map of our hypertext essay that we made in the tutorial.

Thanks Georgina for taking notes and summery of our Concept :)

Our group had come up with the idea of using "TV News" as the basic structure of our hypertext essay. This is an inspiration drawn from "Sky News" on Foxtel. We believe that this is a good example of how spatial montage and interactive media is contextualised and used in the current world of media.

"Portal Page" that links to other sub-channels (spatial montage)
