The Last I.M Lecture
Posted on May 21st, 2012 No comments- What is it you experience that changed your learning experience?
- It is a qualitative change not quantitative
- What is it to be online?
- - Multiple connections all the time
- - It is not about facts or certainty
- Cognitive model = ideas of connection & patterns
- Final project
- - cycles of prompts that are continually opened up through making, looking, rethinking and making again.
- - Example: we start with an idea → making → change → remake
- - I definitely experienced this as my group’s project theme changed 3 times! Our prompt was ‘The city is…”. We came out with the idea that The City is Artefact and started filming things we thought was artefact but when we had discussion with Seth, we started to change the theme into something totally different. It really is indeed the cycle of prompts.
- Tacit knowledge
- - You need to do it to learn how to do it. Again with the motorcycle example!
- - Also, the use of Korsakow! You need to work on Korsakow to know how it actually works.
- Aesthetic
- - What’s your contribution?
- - Thinking about way things can join instead of way they must join.
- - Let work evolve and change its shape
- Experience
- The line (Lesson of this subject)
- To ask and think about what lies on the other side of this line.
- What relationship do you want with this? Why?
- Which will matter for you
- Based on experience not context – knowing how and how to be
- How you are able to enframe your experience of it in a way that looks forward and outwards.
