IM1 Lab Week 11

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

So we kinda have to rethink or re-frame our proposition again. Seth told us to be wary of the legal ramifications of doing such videos might lead to us, him, the course and the school. Not to mention for our future employability. We have to make a pitch to Adrian to whether our idea is deemed okay to continue with.

Seth adviced us to maybe change the title or the context of our proposition. Instead of “Life is a Crime”, he suggested something in the likes of “Life is anti-establishment or anti social”

Day of Shoot!

Saturday, May 5th, 2012

First off I would like to say that today was the third most tiring day of my life; 2nd was cooking for my sister’s wedding and the 1st was my evaluation test in the Army.

Apart from that, I really did enjoy the whole process of film making. There was so many things going on rapidly that there wasn’t enough time to actually feel tired during the shoot since we were so much in the zone that everything else is secondary. The feeling of tiredness only came after we wrapped everything up.

I was actually nervous before the start of the shoot because, I’m primarily responsible in how the entire film will look like in the end, and a film without an image isn’t technically a film at all!! But Alas all the pre-filming jitters dissolved once the shoot started.

IM1 week 10 meeting

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

We met up today to basically think up of a new proposition for our K-film. We had trouble thinking of new propositions and ideas for our K-film.

Initially we thought of taking a word our from our proposition which is “Life is learning, living and loving”. We thought of taking out the “living” part as we thought it was too broad. We needed to have some kind of tighter focus for our project. Although in the end we decided that subtracting ‘living’ from our proposition isn’t enough.

So we had to rethink our entire proposition framework.

After much thinking, we are going with “Life is a Crime”.

We’re planning to go for a non-serious take on Crime or things that we deem to be somewhat criminal. Of course it will be only an act and we’ll state the disclaimer and such. We’re planning to show some of our videos to Seth with this new proposition.

IM1 Lab week 10

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

We presented our prototype to the class and we managed to get that 5%!! Feedback is that we need to work within our framework and not make the videos the apply it to the framework.

We listed our groups Strengths and Weaknesses:

Wennie’s Strengths – SNU-ing, thinking up of keywords, Editing of videos

Wennie’s weaknesses – Photoshop, essay writing

Evan’s Strengths – Filming of actual videos, Editing

Evan’s Weaknesses – problem with keywords in Korsakow

Dinie’s Strengths – Filming, editing of videos

Dinie’s Weaknesses – SNU-ing, keywords

Allocation of Tasks for the project

Since the group’s strengths and weaknesses are balanced, we are basically going to divide the workload evenly in the group.Of course we’ll help each other out when a problem arises or when someone in our group needs assistance.
