After Adrian viewed my video task he had some interesting ideas as to what motifs I should of pursued for the task. A shot that stood out for him was the ‘Mind The Gap’ shot. From this he explained how I should of used this motif of the ‘Gap’ as later on in the video I had filmed (unbeknown to me) several other shots of gaps. He then explained how by using the motif of the ‘Gap’ it changes the video from simply being just a video about a journey from one place to another.

The whole idea of harnessing a motif in a 30 second video based on my journey to uni never really occurred to me but immediately made sense after hearing it. For my future videos I will keep this in mind as I believe it gives videos more depth and warrants more views as the video is not presenting what is solely on the surface. With next week’s video because the whole idea is trying to convey who you are as a person through video, I am unsure as to whether there will be any clear motifs in the footage I take.
