Week 12 is the last week of lecture and tutorial. In this week workshop I have to complete the self - assessment.
what do you think you have done well?
Look back to this semester, I attended almost of the classes of Networked Media course(lectures and tutorials); keep writing blog entries, I did at least 3 a week; submit assignments on time. For the group working - Hypertext essay, I did learn how to use HTML codes before we had group meeting. I attend every group meeting and took responsibility for my job.
what do you think you have to learnt better?
I think I could learn web design better. The hypertext essay I did in this semester which was my first time to write HTML codes. Which means design a web page without using the software(Dreamwaver). I think I did learnt how to write HTML codes basiclly, but in the future I should develop my skills on HTML.
what do you think you could have done better?
Do more academic readings is what I need to do. As I did the course readings and tutorials of HTML and watched online lectures, I found that all these text are useful and inspired my thought. Thus I should have done more readings relate to the subject that I have learnt no matter on the web or on book.

Week 13 Summary of Blogging assignment
Summary
Blogging is a big part of Networked Media course of semester 2. I did keep writing blog entries during this semester, I have 41 blog entries in total, so I think I complete in quantity. For the quality of my blog, I write the reflections of this course that including both lab and lectures. Otherwise I did researches in the filed relate to this course, such as the web design , micro blog etc which are chosen in ten blog entries blow.

By the week 11, our group finished our hypertext essay assignment.
We get the fade back of our tutor on lab week 11, which was change the link color from black to blue. Because the black color makes people think that links are normal texts. here are our final html webpage:
Though the processing of this assignment, I have learned basic HTML skills. In the past, I was thinking that web design is a hard thing, the codes are complecate. Now I feel if you know how to use the codes that will be a good thing to do some own web design works.
Hypertext essay reflection:
What has been the easiest aspects of the hypertext essay task for you, in relation to previous skills and knowledge that you already had?
First of all, I have done the annotated bibliography so I already have the contents for hypertext essay and the skills of writing references. Also during labs and other time outside class I have learned how to write code basiclly. (from intnet and the HTML tutorial online)
What has been the most difficult aspects of this hypertext essay task?
The hardest thing is how to put all the codes together. From the HTML tutorial and google search I found the codes I want to use and I know how to write them individuelly. But when doign the page, I have to cosider the order of codes, because it influences how the web page appears.
What connections can you make between the hypertext essay task and the broader focus of the course on learning to read and write in the network, in regards to working in media/communication professions?
I think the internet is an invisible net link every thing on it. For reading, in this semester we write web blogs, the contents we write may make conection to web sites such as we use citations, references or researches. Blogs also make connection to the social network medias such as facebook or twitter. Because some of our audiences on blog would like to know us and talk to us as our blogs contain their interesting topics. For writing, networking relys on web pages, so it is important to learn how to web design. After I learned how to write html codes, I am able to create my own web pages or web blogs.
Adopt a blog
In the week 11 labs I will be asked to present a blog that I have chosen. At this point in the semester I should have a well developed understanding of blogging and also have an idea of other blogs on the web.
The chose blog of my adopt a blog entry is blog from Even Williams.
Even Williams is an American entrepreneur who has co-founded several Internet companies, including Pyra Labs (creators of Blogger) and Twitter. He was born and raised on a farm in central Nebraska. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and son. He likes long walks in the city, tofu, and bourbon. He has published this blog for over a decade and keeps meaning to write more.
I fond his blog because when I was doing my annotated bibliography of blogging thoughts, he is one of my references. When I visited his blog on the first time, I noticed his blog looks different from other blogs I hava visited before. Even’s blog is are very simple and clean.
The whole page are white background with light blue contents. The style makes audiences feel professional and easy to keep reading on this web. On the left side, we can see his tweeter most recent posts and a twitter follow link there.
This makes his web blog relates to the new blog format micro blog, which represents the social networking function of blog. The posts organized interesting on this blog,
He shows the most recent three blog posts preview, and other older posts are just hyper linked with titles. On the bottom of his blog web page, there are 5 links to other blogs which is web blog’s stereotype. And a brief introduction of author himself on bottom as well.
It is a good blog form a professional bloger, its simple style shows us a concept – less is more. It makes blog professional which is the blog should be, so I think it is good and I like it.
