Personal Mediation

Filed under: Extra Information — admin @ 10:31 pm

During the past 3 weeks project refreshing, information uploading, expected interaction waiting. I found there is an obvious gap between the fact and the imagination. According to what we figured out at the beginning of this project, the initial purpose of our social networks is create a place for sharing and communicating, however, we ignored some crucial steps, in other words, we did achieve what we planed until now, even our plan seems fantastic. Perhaps it is a special meaning for this task, which let us realise the realistic practices is totally different from the paper’s ideas. On the other hand,  the situation is not exactly terrible, owing for the 15 fans for our Facebook page, there are someone….lol. I experienced several days mediation, i conclude there are 3 aspects we have to improve. Firstly, we have to discuss how to make our websites more attractive, in comparison with waiting the people find it, we have push it out by ourselves, promotion, ads, links, or tell friends directly. Secondly, we would better make a timetable with clear tasks arrangement, like what time we need post what, there should have a regular uploading and frequently information exchange. Thirdly, we have the weakness that our focus group of people are not getting used to using such social tools, therefore, i recommend to collect the stories and ideas from the popular pages, like Tencent QQ or sina weblogs, the information is same, we just need moved them to Western popular webs. We played the roles as transfers.  Hope everything goes well, let me take over this tough process.

A world of connections

Although Facebook is the world’s largest  social network, there are a number of other globetrotting sites, such as MySpace, which concentrates on music and entertainment; LinkedIn, which targets career-minded professionals; and Twitter, a networking service that lets members send out short, 140-character messages called “tweets”. All of these appear in a ranking of the world’s most popular networks by total monthly web visits, which also includes Orkut, a Google-owned service that is heavily used in India and Brazil, and QQ, which is big in China. On top of these there are other big national community sites such as Skyrock in France, VKontakte in Russia, and Cyworld in South Korea, as well as numerous smaller social networks that appeal to specific interests such as Muxlim, aimed at the world’s Muslims, and ResearchGATE, which connects scientists and researchers. Moreover, social-networking sites’ impressive growth has attracted much attention because the sites have made people’s personal relationships more visible and quantifiable than ever before. They have also become crucial vehicles for news and channels of effects. Twitter regularly scores headlines with its real-time updates on events like the Mumbai terrorist attacks and on the activities of its high-profile users, who include rap stars, writers and royalty. And both Twitter and Facebook played a starring role in the online campaign strategy that helped sweep Barack Obama to victory in the presidential race.

Week 7 Film1 Lec

Filed under: Extra Information, Film 1 — admin @ 6:25 pm

Key words i quoted from Robin’s speaking and some short self thoughts:

To think about the lighting, black and white, exposure, white balance, blue scene

and also particular backgrounds

lighting and exposure are invisible, they are not like separate things

Example Video about cooperation in production process

Lenny exercise

what is lighting?

a good place, a good day,a choice to a really good location, light coming from the sun, location choice is significant, the person is right for the role

director attention

sensitive  to light

continuity of a time

electricity lighting, black card, different stops, different effects

get huge depth of field, strong contrast

key, fill, hard light source, creative shadow, distinct shadow, soft light source, reflection light, soft shadow, basic terms, direction where they are come from

exactly soft, super soft, one light source, but it surrounds.

hard sound

hard light, but it comes with soft feel

Uni Student quits over ‘appalling’ YouTube Japan rant

Filed under: Extra Information, Integrated Media 2011 — admin @ 1:11 pm

Just a few days ago, my friends talked about a lot about this affair, who are come from Asia, the same to me. I do not know much about this thing, i just found a lot of  “share”  which related to the Uni girl in different social websites. I almost forget it, but this lecture, my tutor used this affair as an example to tell us we have to pay attention to our blog post, pay attention to legal content. I am not interested in talk too much about the Uni girl, the result which she received is enough to prove whether her action is legal and correct. I am happy to have a mediation after this controversial thing, it is really crucial that all blogs and private share have to respect our society and obey disciplines. All of us have the desire of the freedom pursuit, but there is a limit exists absolutely, it is dangerous to break the line…that’ s all…

Korsakow

korsakow

We are going to use this software to collect our individual videos which we did in each week. I just had a seat and did some search about this tool. It is my first to know this software, even i never heard it before, hopefully, this is a chance lets me acquiant with it gradually in this semester’s video project. As i know, it seems like a personal exhibibition of my ever week’s work, thus, i feel so regret for the week 1 room video, i think it is so bad….how can i display that one in the end. Anyway, i have to improve the quality of my video more and more in the following several weeks.I remember in the week 1 lecture, the tutor showed ppt of this korsakow, to be frank, i did not make sense of it at that time. Now, it is the time to review it and learn deeper of it. I watched some achievements  of Korsakow, which gives me a more clear direction of my following individual work method.

HTML 5 Video

Filed under: Extra Information, Integrated Media 2011 — admin @ 11:05 am

HTML5 video is an element introduced in the HTML5 draft specification for the purpose of playing videos or movies, partially replacing the object element.

Adobe Flash Player is widely used to embed video on web sites such as YouTube, since many web browsers have Adobe’s Flash Player pre-installed (with exceptions such as the browsers on the Apple iPhone and iPad and on Android 2.1 or less). HTML5 video is intended by its creators to become the new standard way to show video online, but has been hampered by lack of agreement as to which video formats should be supported in the video tag.

<video> element example

The following HTML5 code fragment will embed a WebM video into a web page.

<video src="movie.webm" poster="movie.jpg" controls>
This is fallback text to display if the browser
does not support the video element.
</video>

We tried ues cyberduck to do that, it is really convenient.
