From yesterday, I am now very fortunate as to be a part of this campaign by One Girl: Do it in a Dress.
It is about you. What YOU can do for others, especially those girls in Sierra Leone. Do it in a dress is a great way for 1) having fun 2) supporting a great cause 3) sending a girl back to school. I love the last bit about sponsoring a child in Africa. If we are so fortunate to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to go to uni, travel, shop, dine and enjoy, why can’t they get a couple of hundred bucks to go to school?

I decided to blog about this because 1) I am ecstatic to be working for a company like this 2) I will be (very soon) actually helping someone just with my efforts and time 3) I am sending kids to school! And lastly 4) this campaign uses blogging as a tool and therefore relates to my course.
Blogging. As we all know, blogging can be for all sorts of things such as for personal thoughts, school, work and more. Sometimes, it can be one to teach others about specific things like creating computers or hacking softwares riding horses. It can be for anything.
However, for this NGO, it’s about all those things (besides the hacking softwares). They want you to blog about your parties or work or maybe your day in school. It can be about anything. Just as long you Do it in a dress! It’s simple.
They also utilize blogs to tell other about the people they helped and how happy they are now. Events and other occasions have been blogged about for others to read and be inspired to help and support. Will you feel that way too?
Besides, just being for work and play, One Girl has entwined the two different essence of work blogs and personal blogs into one. One which anyone, like yourself, can be a part of.

Hundreds of people will be doing it too! Take photos, videos and blog it, tweet it, Facebook it or even print posters of your guy friend’s hairy legs from wearing a short dress and stick it around town! We want to know what you did in a dress!
