I think I have never blogged so much in my entire life! Don’t get me wrong, I love it! And it’s really beginning to grow onto me. Currently, I have 34 posts and 5 very supportive and encouraging comments from strangers I do not know :D (which makes me ecstatic to see that people are reading my blog!!). Thank you all for commenting! :D :D :D

Anyways, I came across this video on Youtube  today and found it tremendously interesting.

Check it out: Shift Happen’s 2010

They talked about a whole heap of things about the world, people, life in general, entertainment and so on, however, what struck me most was the part on technology and how it has advanced so dramatically and how it will advance even more dramatically from 2010 onwards.

There was one point where they said, “The amount of technical information is doubling every 2 years… for students starting a 4 year technical degree this means that half of what they learn in their first year of study will be outdated by their third year of study.”

I can’t imagine going through all that hard work of studying for something and not being able to apply it when I’m working after 2 years. That’s just crazy! But at the same time, it shows how technology is developing in this era. It is also a benefit to have technology assist us in many ways. One way, in example, is Google, which is another interesting fact they brought about.

According to them, there are 31 billion searches in a month on Google. But have you thought about how people went about finding their information before Google?

The only place I think I can find my information is from the library. But, don’t forget, to find a particular book, we use Google, most of the time hoping there will be an e-book of it in our search. Not to mention, the library have their own database to help you ‘search’ for your book as well.

It is amazing how technology has advanced to much throughout these few years and how it has become part of our daily usage. I guess it’s everywhere that we don’t realize it as much.
