Research 1–Speaking in tongue
August 18th, 2009 Posted 10:07 PM
Here are some videos I found on the Internet . To be honest,”Speaking in tongue” is a new word to me. I have not heard about it. But after done the research on it, I became to remember that actually i had heard of that from one of my friend, she told me that she can speak another language which she has no idea what she is speaking. When she is praying , she thought those words in Chinese in her mind. But when she realized she was speaking another language , she recognized that is a special way between the god and herself, so that devils nearby cannot understand and hear the conversation. That was the long ago , i heard of it. Now my friend is in New Zealand, and she was a good friend of my friend, we did not talk much before. So I think it is a big shame that she in not in Melbourne.
this is my favourite one, i like the way of the editing , what s more , it teaches me to understand more about “Speaking in tongue” , but i think our group work will be much different from this one, at least a kind of different style.
this one is a little bit scary , but it leaves a deep impression. ( hard to watch it by myself at night though)
the quality of this video is quite poor , but what she told us is quite useful. it is the basic understanding of “speaking in tongue”.

research on Network media and others
August 25th, 2008 Posted 1:01 AM
Actually the research for me is not hurt; instead, it is an enjoyment to learn. According what I have learnt network and other courses , I found several key words: Internet, communication, new, media, information, technology, culture and society. And I asked myself to write down some words about something I am interested in: entertainment, design, fashion, ideology and films. Then I tried to relate them together, in order to find the perfect example. So after that, I have several choices about the example: a. the novel “Atonement” by Ian McEwan because its popular makes the people want to see the film, but the huge success makes the books more popular. b. the TV series:”Gossip Girl” which is hottest topic among the young people, and in this film there are some technology ways to communicate (gossip) ; c.the film “The Devil Wears Prada”, I love the film , but after I read the book , I love the novel even better. And this popular Hollywood film can be connected to the fashion industry, and there are many different types of media products appear in this film like magazine, TV, and music. So after that, I became more clear about my choice and what I need to do next. The example is “The Devil Wears Prada”. Because by doing this , I can learn more about the fashion and media industry and the cultural and social meaning in it, also doing the research about this film is every helpful for the course Cinema Studies. And it is what I am interested in , and it have the relationship with my personal goals: MTV director /work in film industry. So I started walking around the library more often, and cannot stop googling some related information about this film and the related theory. I found that that is a good opportunity to learn, by doing this, I learnt about critical thinking, and making connections between the network with other types of media. This is also what I need t learn for the next step for the further research.

Participation Week 1
July 30th, 2008 Posted 12:27 PM
In this week , we did our first participation exercise , and we were required to come up with several ideas about the activities which are relevant for our blogs.
After the discussion , we came up with the ideas as blow:
1. Try to attend all the lectures and tutorials: it is important for everyone to keep up with what we need to learn.
2. Finish the weekly tasks on time and write 3~5 blogs per week o. The laziness is the biggest enemy for us to improve ourselves.
3. Have your feedback about the lectures and tutorial : to show how we understand our course.
4. Pay attention to other blogs , learn the good things from them and leave our opinions and suggestions.
5. Read the dossier and write our comments on the blog.
6. Critical thinking about our work (e.g. blogs, other projects) ,and seeking the feedbacks from others in order to improve our works.
7. Do more researches out side of the class and pay attention to the current news about network media.
8. Make our blogs more interesting , e.g put more images and videos into our blogs.
9. Use html and other methods to improve our blog and improve our network media making skills.
10.Enjoy what the course teaches us , and relate it to other course, making it wider and more useful.
