Everyday, everywhere we go, we are confronted with an incredible amount of stimuli. Walking down a city street, we must not only take in the visual (People, the street, advertisements etc) but also the audio (cars noise, nature, people talking) and even the aromatic (smells). Such daily experiences have given us the ability to process several elements side by side. In fact the street could be seen as a kind of 'spatial montage'. Such an experience of montage is only amplified in big cities like New York and Tokyo.
Similar montages are now visible online as well. Framese can be divided and various images or videos can be presented simultaneously. It is apparent that we are already bombarded in so many aspects of our lives. Do we really need cinema to join this list too?
