introduction

This essay has been written in response to 'Blogging Thoughts: personal publication as an online research tool'
by Torill Mortensen and Jill Walker. Mortensen and Walker's essay explores the growing popularity of
weblogs, the issues of private versus public, blogging as a research tool, linking and the uses of weblogs.

Inspired by The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; I decided to create a hypertext essay that
functioned as a guide to weblogs and the blogosphere. This essay is best understood with your tongue
in your cheek and a British accent reading the essay, (best to do this in your head if others are around).

The guide explores what a weblog is, what to write in a weblog, what happens once you have posted,
blogging in society and how blogs grow. To explore the breakdown of hyperlinks on each page,
please use the project map. (Great tool if you're feeling a little lost or overwhelmed by hypertext)
