Shams' nicknames are Shamshu and Guddu. The latter is also my nickname, which is one of the things I had to give up to be a part of this community. He's the 'Me' man - smart guy, but doesn't know when to stop talking about himself! Guddu was a practicing lawyer in India, but came here to marry his sweetheart of 8 years, and also get a permanent residence. As a result, he does process work, studies accounting, and works at Coles. "It's all for the sake of love. I'd love to go out with an Aussie girl! Hehhehe." It's a different issue that none of them give him a second look!
He's a big fibber and boaster, you'd never know what he says is true. "But I am serious sometimes. I'm also camera shy." There we go again! I know he loves footage.
We have a ritual in the house. On a member's birthday eve, we create a gross, smelly liquid made up of egg, food color, leftover food, garlic, and more, sit them in the tub, and you can see the result for yourself! The poor person starts his birthday by cleaning the tub and himself! "I don't like all this, so I always click photos."
He's a comic relief in tense moments. Or at least he tries to be! For a long time, he was the only guy in the house. "He was quite reserved when he first came, and would only talk sense. He got over that phase quite quickly though!" Mona said. There are two guys now, and together they have quite an appetite for people's brains. They can give headaches a run for its money. His friend from India, is Chandu.
