Run Lola Run
Installation artists can break down films into their individual frames to make a statement about the nature of society and film. For example, the artist Daniel Shiffman divided Run Lola Run (Tom Tykwer, 1999) into all of its separate frames and played them simultaneously on a huge screen. It's worth having a look at the finished product because it is overwhelming and quite beautiful to watch all of the small flickering frames. It is not at all a traditional viewing experience of a film and, while our multi-tasking skills may be quite developed, I'm not sure anyone is up to the task of taking all of that in at once! |
