By having multiple layers open on the screen at once the viewer is asked to direct their attention to all that's going on. Just as the cake is made from a variety of ingredience that come together to produce a whole - different from each individual, the amount of visual stimulae on screen appears in a similar way.
The complexities of earth, nature and life are woven together in the world around us that we see everyday and some people don't stop to reflect on how each individual bug, gust of wind or ocean work with each other to create the earth. Similar things are happening in 'virtual reality'. Each user interacts with different browser windows in different ways creating a unique experience. The sum of these experiences could be said to create the individual's view of the world.
The audio and visual communication is now a complex narative where attention must be divided amongst a variety of experiences. As both technological experimentation and user literacy evolve the possibilities for more complex experiences are realised.
Thus, in this virtual world cinema becomes an interactive and dense aesthetic. The viewer can become the editor, the writer and even the director. These titles become of little importance as viewes are surrounded by and becoming more literate of cinematic aesthetics. The pleasure and satisfaction of these complex experiences seem to come out of and refect the nature of daily life.
