The numerous scandals have destroyed this pope. A decent gesture on his part to resign for someone else to do a real cleaning.

In a move that is unprecedented in modern history of the papacy.
In the last few weeks, Pope Benedict has been accused of doing nothing about the molestation of kids by priests while serving as the Archbishop of Munich and Freising in his home country, Germany. Memos to the then Cardinal from Fr. Gerhard Gruber have recently been published in the media to the embarrassment of the Vatican. Also as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, he received complaints from American Bishops and other church leaders round the world but was too busy enforcing church doctrines that he failed to take action.

“Are dogs, goats, sheep or whatever really consenting partners and show sexual pleasure? I think not. It is rape, pure and simple.”

Humanity has a penchant for making second class citizens of many Earth inhabitants, even including individuals of their own species. This dynamic is often something we recognise as prejudice and discrimination. When the human being puts themselves upon a pedestal over those they wish to conquer, destroy or enslave we recognise it as bigotry, among a plethora of other terms; racism, speciesism, class prejudice, homophobia, zoophobia, sexism, ablism...as the case may be dependant upon the victim of the discrimination.

As opposed to being concerned as to what unqualified, anthropocentric and clearly prejudice vested-interest groups "think" about individuals on Earth and their capability of forming social contracts and/or experiencing certain emotions, how about we evolve out of the age of supersition and begin to rely upon impartial science to answer those questions:

There exist numerous neurological scanners, congnitive analysis and comparitive techniques. Use them.
There exist blood-works with which to guage physiological response. Use them.
There exist evolutionary psychologies and cognitive scientists / neurologists. Use them.
There exist olfactory / visual stimuli and sensory apparatus. Use them.
There exist countless ethological video reference and evidence materials. Use them.

Hi Micheal ...

Use these influences as "filters" when evaluating your business ideas for improvement. For example, if you believe that "Mobile and WiFi" will be of significant impact, then improve your business idea by building in more focus on how it can leverage this. Similarly for other influences listed in the article.

Your idea is YOUR idea ... taking these influences into account in this way should assist you in better targeting key success areas.

Quite a nice post there Dr Isaac. I agree, the bottomline of hacking is - "There is no difference between hackers and any other criminals." Look forward to your next post

JD
You are quite correct to be sensitive. Society needs to be sensitive, and I hope my comment wasn't misconstrued as not being sensistiv. At the same time, I am of the opinion that we definitely should be talking about and using the terminology of conditions which are part and parcel of our society. Allow me to explain. I have a long association with people who fit somewhere on the Autism scale. One gentleman, who is now over 50, has been coming to our home for over 30 years and sharing Sabbath (Saturday) meals with my family. My children (and now grandchildren) are exposed to him and I always want them to be. They are part and parcel of society and the challenge for the rest of us is to be explicit about our involvement and encourage such.

In context then, when I mention Aspergian traits, it is true that I am a lay person and cannot accurately define or characterise these, but I want these words to be used. We need to get used to them. We need to understand that they are also part of the rich tapestry of human beings that we come across in our daily lives. At least two of the musicians I work with are mildly aspergian. One of the congregants in my synagogue, a brilliant cancer researcher is Aspergian. It's no badge of shame. The shame is when we hide from and fail to understand and accommodate people with different conditions into our normal lives. We must talk about these things. We must mention what they look like and how they manifest themselves. Once upon a time people in the school yard would have said "Oh, he's such a space cadet". Now, I'd hope kids are able to treat such people with respect and understanding by saying "Oh, she's probably aspersion ... that explains it", and not make fun of them or disenfranchise them.

So, when I made that statement, I was doing quite the opposite of what you were suggesting. I was noting that such struggles and issues are in fact de jury. Let's rejoice in our difference, accept that difference, and above all, let's give each other the benefit of the doubt sometimes?
